Prerequisites

To enrol on this PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner training course, delegates must hold one of the following certifications:

  • PRINCE2® Foundation
  • PRINCE2® Practitioner
  • Project Management Professional® (PMP)*
  • Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)*
  • IPMA Levels A, B, C and D® (Certified Projects Director)

Audience

This PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner Certification course is intended for anyone responsible for integrating project management and product delivery. Those with governance responsibilities for projects employing agile delivery methodologies and those involved with programme and project support roles can benefit from understanding the agile ideas defined in PRINCE2 Agile®.

PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner Course Overview

PRINCE2 Agile® assists organisations in blending two seemingly opposing but complementary disciplines. It emphasises cooperation, team empowerment, and iterative development as a path to project success for organisations. PRINCE2® focuses on best practice principles, and an adaptable process-based approach makes it applicable to projects of all scopes and sizes within any sector. This certification provides individuals with a framework for their projects that is precise and controllable whilst still being quick to adapt to sudden changes. Further, this training will promote an appreciation for project risk, contingency plans, business justifications and optimise individual project contributions, enhancing an individual's project management skill and qualification repertoire.

In this 2-day PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner Certification course, delegates will learn to manage multiple projects successfully. They will gain in-depth knowledge to assess risks and allocate and manage resources through consistent language, procedures, and systems. Furthermore, they will also learn to deliver agile projects by tailoring PRINCE2® management controls with a broad toolset of agile delivery techniques and frameworks. They will learn essential concepts, such as agile and standard agile methodologies, PRINCE2® journey with agile, tailoring PRINCE2® processes, and tailoring the PRINCE2® themes, principles and behaviours. Our highly skilled and expert trainer will conduct this training and have years of experience teaching PRINCE2 Agile® Certification courses

By combining the methods of PRINCE2® and Agile, the certification aims to provide individuals with a framework for their projects that is precise and controllable, whilst still being quick to adapt to sudden changes. By the completion of this course, delegates will be able to apply PRINCE2 Agile® to specific scenarios but may not be able to tailor it to their own projects, as this skill will be dependent on the individual’s expertise.

Course Objectives:

  • To understand PRINCE2® governance requirements clearly and comprehensively
  • To learn agile concepts and techniques including Scrum, Kanban, Lean Start-up and Cynefin
  • To explore the interface between PRINCE2® and agile ways of working
  • To provide a working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban
  • To introduce key agile techniques and methodologies
  • To understand the essentials of tailoring PRINCE2® to work with common variations of Agile

After attending this course, delegates will be able to promote earlier returns on project investment through efficient "flow-based" work models and improve communication across disciplines and teams. They will also be able to ensure effective communication both within the team and with external stakeholders.
